Due to popular demand, we’ve decided to make it very easy to get some quick low-cost advice.
The Architela Quick Consultation is a 30-minute one-to-one meeting to discuss any aspect of your organisation’s internet strategy, website or online learning programme. The meeting will take place on Skype, telephone or online meeting software (whichever you prefer) from the comfort of your own home or office.
The fee is £40 and payment can be made through PayPal.
I’ve been creating resources for new businesses planning websites, which can be found on the Guides page of the Architela website. Both are in the form of Prezi presentations (a fantastic presentation tool — beats Powerpoint cold) but can also be read as a traditional webpage or downloaded as PDF.
The key message for both guides is that there’s a lot to think about when approaching a website, and nothing should be done with haste or without careful planning. I’ve seen too many small start-ups and sole traders go completely the wrong direction and get stuck with useless, costly sites. That’s when they call on me to help extricate them from a big mess. I’m happy to help, but it’s frustrating knowing how much more pleasant, cost-effective and productive it would have been if they’d just called me beforehand to help them get off on the right foot.

Welcome to the Architela blog. Although I’ve known for a long time what a great information source a blog is, I’ve been spending my free time reading other people’s blogs instead of writing my own. I’ve been busy creating presentations and guides for the website (which I’ll be writing about in later blogs posts) and am intent on increasing the resources I offer — one of which is this new blog!
I hope you’ll find useful things here. I plan to post updates at least once a week. In addition to original thoughts, I will re-post information, resources and links from other blogs when they are particularly valuable — it never pays to reinvent the wheel when someone else has a nice one ready to go.
